Finally after waiting for literally 6 years Mangas are finally going to see daylight in Croatia. Even though mangas were on Croatian market for at least a year now, they are finally going to be released on Croatian by no other than Algoritam (in which's bookstores you could buy imported manga at first anyway).
I knew that it was just a matter of time before the publisher Algoritam decides to take another step and publish mangas on Croatian as the more convenient and way cheaper alternative to the imported ones.
I found out about this extraordinary news in the woman's lifestyle magazine Grazia yesterday.
In five days the first manga release on Croatian, the "World of Warcraft" manga will announce the start of the weekly manga releases Croatian wide. In May the real releases will start, with the shoujo mangas "Sugar, Sugar Rune" and "Peach girl" and the shounen mangas "Negima!" and "Blade of the immortal" giving reading material to readers of both sexes and different age groups.
Mangas are going to be released every Thursday and will cost 35kn which is somwhere about 7$ I think (5 euros). Not expensive but not cheap either, especially for those who wish to follow all the series. As for me I'll be following Peach Girl and Sugar Sugar Rune and later Negima (because I already have the first 4 volumes of Negima, but on German). Of course I hope my library will be so good to buy them so that I can borrow them.
This is very, very positive, not just because I have waited so long for that, but for the fact that the Croatian readers will get to know mangas better and those who have already read them won't have to bug with importing mangas.
But honestly, the biggest reason I'm glad this is happening is for the fact that I draw mangas myself and have this one-shot manga I worked two and a half years on and I want to publish it. So yeah, there is this slight chance that maybe one day I could publish my manga on Croatian in Croatia!!!
Most of the foreign manga publishes actually publish mangas from their local manga artists (especially in Germany where home manga artist often have big popularity) so why should it be any different with Croatia? So yeah, can't wait to finish school and enter college, so that I can have the holidays free for offering my manga to my Croatian publisher.
Can't wait :).
So yeah when yesterday my friends were in school I went to Austria!
I woke up really early because I wasn't sure if I was going to Austria so I got ready for school anyway. When my mom woke up she said that we are going to Austria.
I was really happy. I went to the shopping center Seiersberg which had expanded and is now HUGE!!! I was really surprised! So yeah these are some things that I bought in Austria.
I bought also the anime magazine Animania which celebrates it's 100th issue. Although I buy it mostly because of the Visual kei reviews at the end I still find the manga and anime reviews enjoyable.
I also bought the J-culture magazine peach which has got a lot of interviews and I like the new magazine layout. It looks really fine. Also the had a small phrase list "How to curse on Japanese" which I really have to learn XDDD.
I also got very luck finding the new issue of Daisuki. I love this shojo manga magazine and I have to order some of the older issues I have missed. Anyway the Daisuki also got an inner redesign and I have noticed that it has got more pages, but that the magazine in whole is printed on cheaper paper, no more glossy pages at the beginning, everything is printed on paper now. Kinda makes the magazine closer to the Japanese original right?
Besides magazines I also bought a black-white checkered bandanna so I finally have my black bandanna. Can't wait to wear it. The pink wriggly stuff on the picture are my new headphones from Phillips that weren't so expensive and they have a good sound so I am happy now. And the shocking pink color is really charming don't you think?
My mom also bought me the Mikado candy which is just the German manufactured version of Pocky sticks. Gonna eat them later.
So all in all I had a great day and I bought good things for less money. Leaves more money for the next time.
Yesterday I went to Austria for shopping. Although I was in Slovenia already this Monday, I went also to Austria, cause I go there like every 1.5 - 2 months.
It was generally nice. I saw a lot of things and bought interesting stuff although I didn't spent too much money.
The second magazine is Koneko. It is really merry and has got a lot of interesting articles about Japan, manga and anime.
The third magazine is Peach (#10). It is a J-rock/pop music, lifestyle and fashion magazine. I buy it because of really good articles about bands, reviews and interviews. In this edition there were interviews with An cafe, bis and Girugämesh (who look like adorable idiots, God I love them. I'll scan and post the images.). I also got posters from all of the bands and now I've put the poster of Girugämesh next to my work table.
The forth magazine is Daisuki. It is a manga magazine like Hana to Yume just on German. I really love that magazine, and yes all of the magazines here are on German and since I speak German as fluently as English I have no problem understanding these magazines.
And on the top of them all you can see my....errr....I don't know how you call it on English but it is the belts that keep your trousers from falling (like on lederhosen). They fit me very good and I can't wait to wear them.
Oh and I bought an add-on for my iPod which allows me to listen to the music from my iPod on the radio. No more torture with earphones when I'm at home. I'm even thinking about making my little radio program on my iPod ^^.
Overall... a very good shopping indeed.
